New high-pressure SCR for two-stroke engines

July 2017 | Editor

Catalytic reduction | MAN Diesel & Turbo, together with its licensee Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding, has launched a new high-pressure selective catalytic reduction system MAN SCR-HP. The new unit is available for two-stroke engines of all bore sizes and reduces NOx exhaust emissions to IMO Tier III limits through an internal catalytic reaction. With specially developed honeycombs and honeycomb materials and an integrated mixing unit, the overall size of the reactor is significantly smaller than most other designs, as well as its medium-speed counterpart. MAN Diesel & Turbo expects to deliver the first system around the beginning of 2018.
