New efficiency standard for existing fleet
From January 2023, most commercial vessels will have to comply with the new Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) standard. The EEXI introduces the same energy efficiency requirements for existing ships as those that were put in place for newbuildings by the EEDI in 2013. To comply with the standard, owners, classification societies and equipment suppliers must all take action now.
