Scandlines reports improved speed and power performance
When ferry operator Scandlines decided to upgrade the hull coating on the 142m-long RoPax ferry Deutschland , the company turned to PPG Protective and Marine Coatings. Scandlines wanted to increase vessel energy efficiency by reducing power loss, use a biocide-free coating to support its green agenda, and obtain guaranteed performance. The Deutschland , which serves the Rødby–Puttgarden route, was drydocked at the Remontova shipyard, Poland, in March 2020 for blasting and re-painting.
