Carnival expands remote monitoring capability

May 2017 | Editor

fleet operations | Carnival Corporation & plc is expanding its global network of fleet operations centres (FOCs), with the opening of a new facility in Seattle and another one due to be commissioned at the company’s Miami headquarters later this year. The new FOCs follow the opening of Carnival’s first remote monitoring centre in Hamburg in October 2015. The company, which describes itself as the world’s largest leisure travel company, operates a fleet of 103 cruise vessels. In the cruise brands which are so far linked to the Hamburg FOC, the information shared between the ships and specialised shore-based teams enhance the safe operation of ships at sea while maximising operational efficiency.
