Stand T02-16B Viking Life-Saving Equipment will be focusing on a variety of new and enhanced products designed to optimise both safety and efficiency at this year’s Nor-Shipping. Its game-changing hooking mechanism for handling lifeboats will be available for inspection. The drop-in-ball system, originally acquired from Maersk in 2015, is much simpler and easier to operate than traditional solutions, prompting some shipping companies to make voluntary, non-compliance-driven replacements to improve vessel safety. Experts from Viking Nadiro will be on hand to answer questions ahead of new SOLAS rules that will take effect in 2019.
