Stand A01-A04 ABB Marine and Ports’ presence at Nor-Shipping 2017 will focus on its newly launched Shipping 4.0 concept, devised to offer refreshing clarity on the technologies and power sources that are shaping the maritime industry. Onboard DC Grid, for example, allows the integration of energy storage and fuel cells into onboard power systems. Conventional propulsion systems will continue their pre-eminence for the foreseeable future, but ABB notes the way battery costs are falling and performance improving, driving a wider adoption of related solutions on board ships. ABB also sees fuel cells playing an increasingly important role in the maritime industry.
