Cylinder condition monitoring service unveiled

A new cylinder condition monitoring service, to be launched by ExxonMobil and available from July, will use scrape-down oil analysis to provide ship operators with rapid information about their ships’ engines. Mobil ServSM Cylinder Condition Monitoring will enable recommendations to be made to operators in real time, helping them to control costs, whilst also measuring the sulphur content in ships’ fuel to ensure compliance with new regulations. The sampling process is quick and safe, reduces human error, identifies potential engine issues, and will help to manage and improve engine protection and optimise performance, ExxonMobil claims....
