Shipyard expands its offshore activities
A new service company has been established by German shipyard Fassmer GmbH & Co KG to provide inspection, servicing and repair of rotor blades, nacelles and hubs in the wind power industry. The setting up of Fassmer Industrial Service GmbH & Co, which will also offer corrosion protection services for steel structures, means that customers will be able to acquire components and subsequent maintenance and repair services from a single source. The company has traditionally produced glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) components for the manufacturers of wind turbines including individually tailored nacelle and spinner claddings, parts for rotor blades, ring channels for tower construction, and housings for transmission paths....
