‘PSC Ready’ app to support ships’ crews

Classification society Bureau Veritas (BV) has launched PSC Ready, an addition to its expanding digital application portfolio designed to help ships’ crews prepare for port state control (PSC) inspections. The app is freely available to all in the industry and can be used on mobile, laptop and desktop devices. PSC Ready is a cloud-based secure application, the classification society said, which can be downloaded for both IOS and Android systems. Benefits include support to ensure compliance with applicable requirements; improving ship maintenance management by assisting crew awareness of issues including safety, environment, ship structures and equipment; scope to improve PSC performance worldwide; training crews to identify and correct deficiencies; providing access to statistics, data and news on PSC developments; and ‘check offline, report online’ functionality for circumstances in which a live data connection is not available....
