New technology to convert biomass into renewable fuel

US-based Honeywell has revealed a new technology that enables agricultural and forestry waste to be converted into renewable fuel for hard-to-abate sectors such as shipping and aviation. The company claims that its system produces lower-carbon marine fuel, gasoline, and sustainable aviation fuel, known as SAF, from sources including wood chips and crop residues. In a marine context, Honeywell says that ready-to-use drop-in fuels provide a cost-effective alternative to conventional shipping fuels....
