Underwater asset inspection service launched
Offshore energy contractors, wind farm construction firms, submarine pipeline and other undersea asset operators can now take advantage of Lloyd’s Register’s (LR) new Subsea Inspection Service, just launched and available worldwide. The classification society is preparing for significant expansion in subsea operations which, according to experts, is likely to extend over a wide range of offshore projects across the energy mix. Operating from Aberdeen, UK, the new service will be headed by Andrew Inglis, LR’s Subsea inspection manager, and a team of in-house experts specialising in subsea surveys and asset integrity assessments. The classification society’s undersea engineers have already completed subsea inspection contracts for major operators in the North Sea and Trinidad. Now, the service is available to clients in all offshore regions through LR’s global network of offices.
