Experts assess ‘methane pathway’
Global demand for natural gas rose sharply in 2024 and is set to continue climbing. Although some major projects have been beset by delays and timing remains an issue, energy major Shell estimates that global gas supply will increase by 170 million tonnes by 2030, an increase of about 40% from today. LNG production in the US is expected to double before 2030. Demand for gas, on the other hand, has risen strongly in Asia as China took advantage of cheap prices and India bought more gas during a hot summer....
