Damen builds support vessels for stock
Customisation | Damen Shipyards has embarked on a project to build three shallow-draught multi-purpose support vessels at Albwardy Damen shipyard in Sharjah, UAE. The shipbuilder, which has a strategy of building for stock, does not get have clients for the vessels. But this approach enables standard vessels to be adapted to meet customers’ needs during construction relatively quickly and has proved successful many times before. Damen plans to build a 27m-long Multi Cat 2712 for delivery in November next year; a 33m-long Multi Cat 3313 SD (shallow draught) for delivery the following month; and a 27m-long Shoalbuster 2711 for delivery in February 2026...
