JDP launched to implement 3D model-based approvals
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ subsidiary, Mitsubishi Shipbuilding and classification society Bureau Veritas (BV) have announced the completion of a Joint Development Project (JDP) to implement 3D model-based approvals. Completion of the JDP, announced recently at Gastech in Houston, will enable Mitsubishi Shipbuilding to streamline its design processes, the partners said. By replacing traditional 2D drawings with a 3D digital version, the system no longer requires repeated 2D drawing adjustments, easing the workload at the shipyard, accelerating the design process, and ensuring more accuracy....
