The Munich-based start-up CargoKite is currently working on producing innovative, wind-powered micro cargo ships and will present its concept at this year’s SMM. These vessels are under 300 TEU and are designed for the short-sea and feeder markets. With the help of a kite, actively controlled hydrofoils and intelligent route planning, the ships can make use of the wind reliably.
