Jackable docking vessel concept for offshore wind farm installations
JOINT VENTURE Cost management is a major concern in the installation of offshore wind turbines. A joint venture between the Hamburg-based towing company Bugsier-, Reederei und Bergungsgesellschaft mbH & Co KG (Bugsier) and Wärtsilä is designing a fifth-generation installation vessel meant to reduce costs, write Bugsier’s Carsten-S. Wibel and Wärtsilä’s Henning von Wedel.
