Extending mooring vessel capabilities
Kongsberg Maritime has launched a new mooring capable system for offshore construction vessels (OCVs) enabling them to undertake the pre-lay of mooring lines as an extension to suction anchor capabilities. The space-saving system will enable the vessels to prepare for anchor installation and the pre-lay of both chain and fibre mooring lines, thereby raising their operational flexibility. By integrating a purpose-designed anchor handling winch, shark jaws, and stern rollers when the vessels are built, the OCVs will be able to handle more tasks independently, offsetting a potential shortage of vessels capable of undertaking large-scale mooring installations....
