Largest methanol-fuelled engine set for delivery
WinGD continues to extend its engine range and will soon deliver the largest methanol-fuelled unit so far for installation on a 16,000-TEU container ship currently under construction. The ten-cylinder 92-bore X-DF-M engine has recently passed the factory and type approval tests. A delivery ceremony was held at Chinese engine builder CSSC-MES Diesel Co. Ltd (CMD) in Shanghai. Attendees included senior executives from WinGD, CMD, China State Shipbuilding Corporation as well as global customers. No fewer then eight classification societies were also present at the signing-off of the X-DF-M type approval certification, assuring the engine can be built to the WinGD design by all engine builders....
