BATTERY PROPULSION | As emission regulations tighten, hybrid propulsion is becoming an attractive alternative. A hybrid solution is an electrical power system with an alternative energy source (battery) in addition to the diesel/LNG engines. Recent developments in ship electrification hold significant promise for improved energy management and fuel efficiency.
