New Finnish consortium to focus on marine digitalisation
Fourteen Finnish companies have joined INTENS, described as a “research-industry collaborative consortium”, to advance, promote and digitalise Finland’s marine industries, focusing specifically on energy efficiency improvement and emissions reduction from ships’ energy systems. Supported by a EUR 5.6 million grant from Business Finland, the consortium members have committed more than EUR 13 million to the project over the next three years. Vice president of Digital Engineering at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, said: “Thanks to the great support from Business Finland Arctic Seas programme and the consortium partners, we are able to form this industry-wide ambitious and committed consortium to boost the digitalisation and digital transformation of the Finnish marine sector and promote our top-level marine expertise globally.”...
