Hybrid propulsion cuts tug emissions

TOWAGE The growing size of ships, particularly container and vehicle carriers, is spurring construction of tugs with stronger propulsion systems. So far, however, the considerable energy-saving potential of such tugs has only been realised occasionally, writes shipbuilding expert Ralf Witthohn in the current issue of our series “Innovative Vessels”.
