CTVs use SWATH design
AHMD | Three crew transfer vessels (CTVs) being built for Maritime Craft Services (Clyde) Ltd (MCS) at Finland’s Työvene shipyard have been designed with a small waterplane area twin hull (SWATH) configuration developed by Ad Hoc Marine Designs Ltd. (AHMD) of the UK. The 29.6m-long vessels have additional motion stabilisation with zero-speed heave-mode controllable fins, improving seakeeping by further reducing hull motions. The vessels’ engines, fuel, and other heavy equipment will be contained within the upper haunch part of the hull, enabling easy access and maintenance from the main deck, AHMD said....
