SENSOR TECHNOLOGY Steel foundations for offshore wind turbines must be inspected at regular intervals, which has mostly been done by professional divers. However, using divers is risky and expensive. This has accelerated the development of automated systems and modern sensor technology designed to monitor substructures under water.
