Deltamarin clinches design deals
PCTCs | Deltamarin has won a series of ship design contracts for pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs) from three separate ship owning groups. Up to 16 vessels could now be built to the company’s designs, all of them in Chinese shipyards. China’s largest electric car manufacturer, BYD Auto, has ordered four Deltamarin-designed PCTCs of 9,200 car-equivalent-unit (CEU) capacity at China Merchants Industry. The ships, to be powered by LNG, have been designed specifically for BYD trades. Deliveries will start in 2025....
