Study claims significant CO2 cuts with just-in-time arrivals
Container ship operators could cut fuel consumption and carbon emissions by 14% per voyage by using just-in-time (JIT) arrivals, a new study has revealed. Commissioned by the IMO-Norway GreenVoyage2050’s Global Industry Alliance to Support Low Carbon Shipping (Low Carbon GIA), the study emphasised how JIT arrivals represent an important tool in achieving the best carbon intensity indicator (CII) ratings, due to enter force for all ships of more than 5,000gt in January 2023.
