UK’s first wave energy farm set to debut in 2017
WAVE HUB Irish wave energy farm developer Simply Blue Energy Ltd has signed a contract with Wave Hub Ltd to create the UK’s first, and world’s largest, commercial wave farm off the coast of Cornwall, England, using technology from Sweden’s Seabased Industry AB. Wave Hub bills itself as the world’s largest and most technologically advanced site for the testing and development of an offshore wave energy array, writes freelance journalist Rainer Kiebat, who describes the project.
