Viking Line harnesses power of the wind

Rotor Sail | Åland Islands-based Viking Line has installed a Rotor Sail on board its 2,800-passenger LNG-powered cruise ferry Viking Grace . The vessel, which operates across the Baltic Sea on the route between Turku, Finland, and Stockholm in Sweden, recently set sail as the first passenger ship capable of using the wind to supplement power requirements. Developed by Finland’s Norsepower Oy Ltd, the Rotor Sail is expected to reduce the ship’s fuel consumption and emissions by up to 900 tonnes a year....
