New digital offering to raise productivity

Performance management | Power and automation company ABB has established a new digital portfolio comprising more than 180 systems and services which, it claims, will unlock value for its customers in the “fourth industrial revolution”. ABB Ability, launched recently in Houston, combines the company’s experience and knowledge with network connectivity and the latest digital innovation. The result is a set-up that will solve real business problems and produce tangible business opportunities, ABB says. Although shipping is a key focus for the company, ABB Ability is a tool that can be applied across various sectors including energy, utilities, automotive and chemicals. It will help customers to develop new processes and advance existing ones by providing insights and optimising the planning and control of real-time operations, the company explains. The results can then be fed into control systems to improve key metrics such as factory uptime, speed and yield.
