Data-based engine monitoring system launched
An integrated system for the collection and analysis of ship and machinery data, just launched by Winterthur Gas & Diesel (WinGD), looks set to offer ship operators significant benefits. The WinGD Integrated Digital Expert (WiDE) is based on Data Collection Monitoring (DCM) and, it is claimed, predicts the possible malfunction of components, facilitates the provision of live troubleshooting support, and enables real-time diagnostic advice from experts to support shipboard engineering personnel.
